What is building management systems

If you talk about building management systems in standardization, building management systems are more than a technique: they involve other than products and software also technical services, that means infrastructure arrangements - but always with the aim to operate the system of technical building services in an energy efficient, economical and safe way. Building management systems are not an end in itselves but support. They only exist in connection with technical building services. Target fields for building management systems:

  • Room installation (heating, cooling, illuminating, sun protection)
  • Heating systems, air conditioner and ventilation, heavy current engineering (for example DDC technic, substation)
  • Superior arrangement for the handling of building management systems and as a support for building management.

The center of building management systems are not equipement but features which provide equipment with the aim of improving energy efficiency.
